As we try desperately to keep to something even remotely looking like a schedule we have for you episode seven of The Punk and The Pastor. Starting off with a little ditty from Hans Zimmer that it is almost necessary to put in front of our podcast. Then we move on to the dulcet tones of Kiss, Kiss with their song âMachines.â Then we get into a discussion of 28 Weeks Later.

Following that up we drop a song from the SUBS, they are from Beijing China, and this is their song, âWhat More.â It may ore may not be in English. Not to sure on that one. Then we talk about The MANITOU (all caps just for Stacey). Then follow that up with a song from I Want To Kill You. It is their happy tune called âDrawn and Quartered at Gun Point.â

After that we get into a little teaser of our next episode by talking about the films of Stephen King, which is in turn followed by a song from some of the godfathers of punk T.S.O.L. called âTerrible People.â

We get into some letters, play a song by The Chariot called âThe Company, The Comfort, The Grave.â Then we talk about what we are going to watch next month, and we play you out to a bad ass tune called âShirt of My Backâ by Synthetic Elements, the head liner for our first ever podcast concert. Good stuff.

We know you have been waiting for the new episode of Author Read Fiction. I'm telling you right now that it was worth the wait. This month we have fiction from Cari Beltane. Cari is a working-class rabbit mama, experimental and horror fiction maker, performance artist, activist for justice â especially for anyone with four legs, and an exceptional vegan chef. She read an excerpt from her forthcoming bizarro novel Shrink.
Cari will also be coming out with a collection of bizarro poetry and fiction from Punk Horror Press, and we are always proud when she graces us with one of her works from "Booger Murphy".
Prepping you for the story is the creepy noise that the spinning hexagon on the planet Saturn is making. Don't believe me, look it up on Google.
Finally, PHP is proud to be working with Runaway Network. There are some other great shows on the network so be sure to check them out.

This month The Punk and the Pastor isn't a "horror" movie
review show it is "dark fantasy." A dumb
distinction but one that we as total nerds feel obligated to make.

As usual our theme music comes from Ghost of Gelsomina And the fist song that we hear is from The
Candy Snatchers:

Punk Horror Podcasts: The Punk and The Pastor #4

OK so this is a very special New Years Edition of The Punk
and The Pastor, featuring our first annual "I'veTotally Seen All of Those" movie festival. This year we have taken
the plunge and watched all five of The Exorcist Films.

Also did something a little different with the linking of the music from last episode, but we will be going back to the links to the bands we play on the next Punk and the Pastor.

First up though was music from The Prague Philharmonic
Orchestra with the Crouch End Festival Chorus, with their rendition of the
theme from The Exorcist, "Tubular Bells."

The first movie up for review was The Exorcist: The Version You've
Never Seen Before featuring over ten minuets of additional footage this is
hands down one of the most disturbing films ever made.

Following that was music from Ennio Morricone performed by Prague
Philharmonic Orchestra with the Crouch End Festival Chorus, this time they are
playing "Regan's Theme" from The Exorcist
II: The Heretic, which not coincidentally was the second movie we reviewed.

The Exorcist II: The Heretic
is an interesting film to say the least.
To classify it would be to say it is very much so like the Italian films
of its time, but not quite as good.

To follow up that review we are blowing out "Regan" by The Demonics. This little slice of Bock-a-Billy hell has
been a favorite of Gabriel's since the late 90's when he first heard it, and he
hopes that it will be a favorite of yours.

Next up, the true sequel to The Exorcist, The Exorcist
III. The film made from the novel
that is the real sequel to The Exorcist, Legion. A brilliant book, that doesn't quite
translate into a brilliant movie, but it, is the best of the sequels.

Then we feature music from Landspeedrecord! with their song "Let
the Exorcism Begin". You can find damn
near everything that they have recorded at the website for free. This is our favorite kind of band to be
certain. Click Here to get those
downloads.

Finally we wrap this up by talking about both of the "prequels"
to The Exorcist. Exorcist: The Beginning and Dominion: A Prequel to the Exorcist. No to movies with the same plot and the same
actors could be any different.

Last but not least, "Linda Blair" by Red Cross, another
great band

Punk Horror Podcasts: Author Read Fiction #2

Cody Goodfellow reads âLydiaâs Last Lyposuctionâ, a revolting short story youâre sure to adore!

Intro Music by SleepingCat (no website, the goddarn ludduties!)

LYDIA'S LAST LIPOSUCTION

How much is too much? When it comes to love, lies and liposuction, Lydia never says no... until it's too late. A buxom barfbag of full-figured farce lovingly guaranteed to make you lose your lunch. Listen to Codyâs entry in the 2005 World Horror Conventionâs gross out contest.

Cody is one of the most respect names in the horror small press. His novels, Radiant Dawn and Ravenous Dusk, are a two-part epic of modern Lovecraftian horror. His stories and articles have appeared in Cemetery Dance,Third Alternative, Dark Wisdom, The Eldritch Dark, Static Magazine and Substance Digizine. Cody also appears in âA dark and deadly valleyâ (WW 2 horror collection), Hardboiled Cthulhu, and the Australian giant monster anthology Daikaiiju. Most important to us his novella âBreaking the chain letterâ set to appear in the Vault of Punk Horror.

"Itâs like H.P. Lovecraft and Tom Clancy stopped by Thomas Pynchonâs house, on their way to perform some eco-terrorism with Edward Abbey and the Monkey-Wrench Gang, before hooking up with Robert Anton Wilson and Philip K. Dick to do some âshrooms. The thing is, reading Cody Goodfellow reminds me of all these other writers and artists, whenever I put down the book. But when Iâm reading it, Iâm not thinking of anyone else. Because he doesnât read like anyone else. Which is to say: he is a fucking original." â John Skipp NY Times Bestselling author and splatterpunk legend

Punk Horror Podcasts: The Punk and The Pastor #2

A little bit of up front stuff...

We made it to the second episode of The Punk and The Pastor! That is exciting stuff to us. We had a short sponsor ship with After Dark Film's Horror Fest, where we were supposed to get free tickets to the movies but I had an e-mail failure and lost my contact's e-mail so no dice.

Other than that we have a couple of promos that we got from Kiptronic it is a great resource for finding other people that will advertise your podcast by trading promos. Those are at the very end of the show, hope they aren't too obtrusive. Guess we'll all find out.

Now...

Show Notes

First up we have a new theme song from Ghost of Gelsomina, this tune is called "It's a True Story" and we played it in its entirety on the first episode of Author Read Fiction. It's a creepy little tune.

First movie we looked at was the Saw III obviously the sqeul to the Saw films. It is out pick for the theatres.

Then some music from The Matadors with the song "Die" off their new album Horrorbilly 9000.

Then the video pick for the show was 1997's Event Horizon, this made for some interesting discussion.

Then some music from Drew Danburry a great musician from <state></state><place></place>Utah. We played his song "I'll only believe in true love if Micah marries Camille" off of his Sex Rock album.

Then Stacey and Gabriel discuss when it is appropriate to let your kids watch horror. This is a try out for a segment where the two of them discuss something that hopefully they will argue about, that didn't work to well this time. We would love to get some input from you guys on this segment.

Finally a song from The Creepshow. It is their cover of the Misfits song "Halloween".

And that is about it. Both The Creepshow and The Matadors come to us from Stereo Dynamite Recordings, and Drew Danburry comes to us from well <state></state><place></place>Utah.

Punk Horror Podcasts: The Punk and The Pastor #1

Well here it is. The first Punk Horror podcast. A few quick things before I get into the show notes proper there are a couple of things I want to say about the recording. The sound quality of Stacey and Gabriel isn't quite what I would like it to be because we are waiting on a mixer. The next episode promises to be much better.

Also keep a look out in a couple of weeks (cross your fingers) for some short fiction read by the author. This is going to be great and it should feature some really amazing fiction.

Show Notes

First off we have music from Gogol Bordello for the intro music. It is the song Sally from their album Gypsy Punk Underground.

Next up was music from The Axe That Chopped The Cherry Tree. These guys from Greeley, Colorado really know how to bring a room to it's feet, or something. Great band be sure to check them out. We dropped the track The Parachute Effect from their album Don't Touch the Lightning.

We then reviewed The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning. The prequel to the 2003 remake of the 1970's classic film.

Then comes some music from 6afraidof7. Another great band, this one hailing from Denver, CO. We played their song Ruby.

After that we reviewed the 70's "Psychic Thriller" staring Donald Sutherland and Julie Christie: Don't Look Now. This 1973 film is on it's way to "remakeville." Lets see which one is worse.

Then some music from Parker, Colorado's Ruin Sisera. Great hardcore, with their song These Shattered Hands.

And Finally An outro soung from Gogol Bordello again, from the same album this is the song Never Young.

That is about it for the show. Be sure to check us out at www.punkhorror.com, sign up for the mailing list, harrass us on the boards, or drop us an e-mail at podcast@punkhorror.com.

Next month we will bring you more music, we will review the films Saw III, and Event Horizon, and a third movie that will be part of our new feature where Stacy and Gabriel talk about a movie that speaks directly to them as a punk or a pastor. Should be good stuff.

If you have a band and would like your music on the show drop us a line, and if you have a recomendation for a film that will get the ire of a punk or pastor up do the same we would love for your input on this one.
